Instruction Manual For Baby

It would be great if children came with instruction manuals, but unfortunately this is not the case. Even though new parents are not handed instruction manuals to take home with them to help them care for their new little one, many others have forged this path previously and can offer help. Thankfully, new parents can benefit from the experiences of those that have gone before them. More experienced parents can offer advice and guidance to those just starting out, and new parents can consider this sage advice as their own personal child instruction manual. While the instruction manual may not cover absolutely every topic that may need to be addressed, it will definitely give new parents a point of reference from which to begin.

One of the most important and difficult aspects of parenting is discipline. Most parents, especially first time parents, naively believe the experience with their child will be all cuddles and kisses. While love and affection is certainly appropriate and necessary in the life of every child, there are times in which new parents will have to be heavy-handed. Rules and discipline should be implemented when children are very young. Waiting until a child is older to teach them discipline may prove to be an exercise in futility. It is essential that parents be prepared to correct and discipline their children when necessary. Children are never too young to hear the word “no.”

Even if parents are successful at telling their children “no,” they often give in to their child’s repeated requests. Children may throw a temper tantrum, yell, or cry in an effort to get their way. Parents need to be firm and stand their ground. Giving in to a child’s temper tantrums will only perpetuate or encourage this socially unacceptable behavior. However, children that understand that “no” actually means “no” are probably less likely to throw a temper tantrum in the first place. When parents are firm in their decisions, their children will be more obedient.

Parents have to stick together when it comes to decisions regarding their children. Children can sense when there is a division, and they will exploit this division to their advantage. Before bringing a new baby home, parents need to discuss rules of the home before they have the chance to be broken. By establishing a game plan in advance, parents can be on common ground when it comes to house rules and discipline. This will be beneficial for both the parents and the children because it will encourage cooperation and create a safe, healthy environment for the child. By following these simple instructions, parents can have a wonderful life with their children.
